  * A Distant Path

  When it was wild, as times were
Embraced, you and I
Entwined, soared, and swarmed
Shun the light, moonlit skies, and stars
Let there be no cowards
Lingering long last
Scarred outcasts
Scarlet coarse warts
No fools unbarred
Rules were rules;
Thwart: lack of depth
Shirk: faint of hearts
Hunt: light of belief
No escape routes planned,
No craven fleeing rafts
Remained amongst us;
Cherished untamed art
Daring and gallant were we
Known far and apart
Pursued the truth literal
Above all else vigilant
A traitorous depart
From a naive youth path
When it was wild
As times were
A distant memory of heart!
